Efficacy and safety of finerenone in patients with chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular diseases: An individual participant data pooled analysis (INFINITY)
HF occupies a central position in the CV–kidney continuum:
- HHF was the CV event most strongly associated with subsequent CKD progression.
- CKD progression was in turn most strongly associated with subsequent HHF or CV death.
Among all non-fatal CV and kidney events, HHF identified patients at highest subsequent risk of death.
Finerenone reduced HF, kidney and combined kidney–CV outcomes with no detected heterogeneity according to CVD history.
