Effects of finerenone on clinical outcomes by CKD severity: An INFINITY analysis
Finerenone preserved kidney function in a broad CKD population:
Effects on chronic eGFR slope were consistent irrespective of CKD severity
- Heterogeneity was observed for total and acute eGFR slope with less decline in the very high-risk subgroup
Finerenone reduced risks of kidney and CV events irrespective of CKD severity:
Heterogeneity was not observed between CKD subgroups for effects on the composite kidney outcome
- CV risk reduction may have been greater in the low/moderate KDIGO risk category
Finerenone was well tolerated
Treatment-emergent AE rates were similar between finerenone and placebo groups by CKD severity
- Hyperkalemia was more frequent with finerenone, with greater frequency in higher risk groups
Serious hyperkalemia was rare overall
- Hypotension was more frequent with finerenone irrespective of CKD severity
